We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an Intervention Tutor to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Hull. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers or education professionals eager to gain meaningful experience supporting students in Years 7-11 with targeted intervention sessions across English and Maths.

Working as part of a newly established Intervention Team, you'll join a dynamic group of up to ten graduates supporting pupils who require extra help to reach their full potential. Both immediate and September 2025 starts are available. This is a high-impact role ideal for graduates with a strong academic background in English and Maths and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. You'll design and deliver 1:1 and small group sessions, provide GCSE support, and make a lasting difference in pupils' confidence and academic progress.

Job Summary

  • £26,681 FTE salary | Pro-rata to £20,000 per annum [39-week term-time contract]
  • £102 per day (inclusive of holiday pay) | £510 per week | Paid Weekly (PAYE)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging 1:1 and small group interventions in English and Maths
  • Work with students across Key Stage 3 and 4, including GCSE preparation
  • Provide in-class support alongside teachers as required
  • Develop bespoke learning resources to improve pupil progress
  • Support SEND and disadvantaged students with tailored academic help
  • Track and report progress to teaching staff and intervention leads

Requirements

  • Minimum 2:1 degree, ideally in English, Maths or a closely related subject
  • Excellent academic track record, particularly in English and Maths across GCSE and/or A-Level
  • Enthusiastic about education and committed to helping students succeed
  • Clear, confident communicator with a supportive and proactive mindset
  • Previous experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential
