Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun – Based on site and must be able to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow

Salary: £38,662.00 (additional shift allowance of 33% may be applicable)

  • Trade Papers to be provided when submitting application

What you’ll be doing:

  • Installation of a variety of types of cables (multi-core, single core and co-axial) & electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches etc.)
  • Cable termination and installation of all electrical equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of electrical installations
  • Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards

Your skills and experiences:

  • Modern Apprenticeship – SVQ 3 or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in a marine installation or major industrial installation environment
  • Understanding all assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH
  • Understanding of relevant trade drawings
  • Knowledge of tag out process and the correct proving dead procedure
  • Mounting of electrical equipment & components
  • Earthing of equipment and termination of cables to workmanship standards

As part of our growing team, we are looking for a talented and experienced Electrician to join us as we drive to deliver eight Type 26 frigates to the Royal Navy. As an Electrician within BAE Systems Naval Ships, you will play a key role in the installation of electrical systems on our state-of-the-art naval vessels. Our skilled electrical teams work on a variety of scope from advanced military communication systems and weapons systems to small power and lighting systems.
