About Us
Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (BACA) is set on the outskirts of the vibrant city of Brighton, next door to Falmer station and to Brighton and Hove Albion's AMEX Stadium. Situated close to the A27, the school has good road and rail transport links. Close to country, city and seaside, the context for this is rich and diverse with many opportunities to engage with the community and build cultural capital for students.
In addition to all there is to offer in the local area, BACA is proud to host the Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre and runs both a junior pathway for cricket entrants and a cricket pathway through sixth form. As the home to Sussex Vipers, our cricket academy has very close ties to Sussex Cricket and the MCC. Not only does the school boast illustrious cricketing facilities, it also hosts a high successful Construction Academy as part of its strong vocational offer. The BACA estates are new with its current buildings opened in 2011. BACA is very much a community school with a truly comprehensive intake. With 43% of its cohort designated as being in the pupil premium category, BACA works hard to support all students to achieve strong engagement and strong outcomes. With a strong focus on our four key improvement levers around culture, coaching, curriculum and data-informed instruction, the BACA team are building towards a consistent provision that supports great progress for all students.
