We are looking for a Group Architectural Director to join us at our Head Office in Measham. This post would suit an experienced and diplomatic leader from an Architectural Background, adept at managing teams with the ability to deliver large-scale residential projects to agreed deadlines, whilst ensuring the architectural solutions for the business meet both business and regulatory objectives.

What Will Your Day Look Like?
The Group Architectural Director will hold the responsibility of the design, management and maintenance of the Group standard house type portfolio and the production of all working drawings for the regional business units to support the delivery of all the Group housing developments. You will be a figurehead for all Architectural issues in the business by supporting the Group Development and Technical Director and other Team Managers in the day-to-day operation of the Design and Technical Department.
A brief overview of duties can be found below:
- To lead the design of the Bloor Group House Type Portfolio and the production of all Working Drawings. This includes their adapted designs to meet Nationally Described Space Standards, M4(2) and M4(3). All Affordable Housing to be maintained in a similar manner.
- To lead, manage and advise the Group House Type team and the Head Office Regional Working Drawing teams in their day-to-day duties.
- Developing and implementing the architectural strategy for business to ensure we are meeting both regulatory and business objectives.
- Collaboration with other Group disciplines e.g. Group Quality Team and Group Commercial Team to ensure we are delivering designs which align with the companies’ objectives.
- Procuring surveys and external consultants as and when required.
- Attending regional offices and site visits as required representing the business.
- Appointment and management of external consultants as required including agreeing fees and tracking spend monthly.

What You'll Need To Succeed:
- Previous experience and proven track record managing a housebuilder's design and technical department at a senior level (director level experience desirable).
- Relevant Architectural degree or equivalent qualification.
- High level technical knowledge and fully conversant with Building Regulations and Future Homes Standards.
- Ability to manage multi-disciplined teams whilst managing workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Understanding of business objectives and ability to develop architectural solutions to support this.
- Experience in managing large residential projects independently.
- Able to respond to deadlines and handle multiple time sensitive responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor teams.
- Encourages collaboration and thrives in a busy and diverse office environment.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally of the organisation.
