Calling all animal lovers! Do you love spending time with animals as much as you do with customers? This is an opportunity to make a real difference to every pet and every client — you will be the first face they see. As well as managing the reception area and ensuring a warm welcome, you'll handle payments, process repeat prescriptions, and manage appointments.
You’ll need to be organized, friendly, calm in emergencies, with excellent customer service skills and a genuine love of animals. This is a part-time role for 20 hours a week: Monday 08:00 - 13:00, Wednesday 13:30 - 18:30, Thursday 08:00 - 13:00, and Friday 12:00 - 18:30, based at our Merthyr Tydfil practice.

- Ensure the practice is ready for opening and closing, managing tills, card machines, alarms, voicemail, and systems.
- Assess emergency appointments, contacting clients to reschedule if necessary.
- Manage the practice diary to optimize appointment availability and skillset matching.
- Ensure online appointment slots are available for booking.
- Greet clients, update records, and carry out reception duties.
- Process repeat prescription requests.
- Promote the Medivet Healthcare Plan and assist clients with sign-up procedures.
- Keep online practice information current, including hours and staff details.
