Are you an experienced operations professional with a background in parking enforcement and people management? Join the council's dedicated team and lead the transformation of its Parking and Moving Traffic Enforcement operation.

The Role

We're looking for a dedicated Parking Operations Manager to oversee and improve enforcement operations across the borough. Based primarily in the office, you'll play a key role in shaping policy, leading performance, and ensuring the council's services run smoothly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of parking and moving traffic enforcement operations
  • Oversee staffing rotas, shift arrangements, and deployment plans for maximum efficiency
  • Monitor and review staff performance and training needs
  • Ensure compliance with traffic regulations and enforcement standards
  • Develop and implement enforcement policies and service improvement plans
  • Supervise a team of team leaders and supervisors (4 direct reports)
  • Support school crossing patrol management in line with Health & Safety requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in operational management within parking enforcement
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, including handling performance and conduct issues
  • Sound knowledge of parking legislation and best practices
  • Experience in managing budgets, procurement, and enforcement equipment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
  • City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Team Leadership/Supervision - or willingness to gain this within 6 months
  • A clean driving licence and the flexibility to work outside standard hours when required
  • Previous experience in Parking is essential for this role.
