Are you a skilled commercial professional ready to take on a challenging role that requires balancing risk and opportunity? As a Commercial Officer, you will be supporting one or more of our Industry sector research teams, ensuring that contractual risks are managed effectively. In addition, you will be expected to lead the development of commercial roadmaps and processes for those sector teams. This is a critical role that demands a proactive approach, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to make informed, risk-based decisions. In this role, you will also act as the capability lead for specific commercial processes, including areas such as export control, subsidy control, and anti-bribery compliance. Youll be instrumental in developing and communicating policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing subject matter expertise across the business. Working with the Head of Commercial, you will also contribute to the ongoing development of the NCC’s Commercial Strategy, helping to navigate and resolve complex commercial issues. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in contract negotiation, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration. Proven experience in negotiating or drafting contracts within a corporate environment. Ability to make pragmatic, risk-based judgements that balance short-term project needs with long-term strategic goals. Practical experience working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver project-based outcomes. Expertise in developing, documenting, and implementing policy and procedure documents. Degree or professional qualification in a commercial discipline (e.g., MCIPs). A proactive, independent approach with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
