Our apprenticeship programme can offer you the experience of working in a retail environment whilst earning and learning as you go. This role is designed to help Assistant Store Managers (ASMs) develop a comprehensive range of knowledge and skills.
Key Areas of Development that the apprenticeship will cover:
- Leadership: Enhance your ability to lead and inspire your team.
- Operational Excellence: Learn best practices for maintaining high standards in store operations.
- Project Management: Gain skills to effectively manage projects and support day-to-day activities within the store.
Duration: 15 months plus end of programme assessment
Eligibility criteria:
- Not be in any other form of funded education or training such as college or university
- Have been an EEA/ UK resident for a minimum of three years
- Do not have a qualification at the same level, or above in the same discipline

What we’re looking for: We seek managers with strong leadership or retail experience who can support and energize a team to excel in safety, customer service, operations, and team activities.
What you are responsible for:
- Leading the team and all aspects of the forecourt and store operations, including our Wild Bean Cafe.
- Making sure that safety of yourself, your team, and the customer, in line with bp policies and procedures, is your top priority.
- Ensure legal and safety compliance through all of the store’s operations e.g., food safety, underage sales, forecourt operations.
- Working with the team to deliver great customer service at every level through getting the basics right and listening to our customers and driving continuous improvement.
- Supporting with the team’s management, including engagement of the store team, development, training, recruitment, and other people related tasks.
