As a Support Worker, you will make a real difference in residents' lives by helping to improve their daily living skills. Passionate about people, you will enjoy opportunities to develop your own life and career, gaining experience and training to progress with us.
Where will I be working?
We provide support for adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities in Castleford. You will be part of a small team supporting two individuals in their own homes and local community. You will be required to provide person-centred support in all aspects of their lives, including managing their home, some personal care, maintaining contact with important people, and accessing community facilities such as shops, banks, and healthcare services. The individuals supported may have cognitive and sensory impairments. Our services are tailored to enable maximum independence.
We use a digital social care record system to support daily recording, making your tasks easier and allowing more time with the People We Support. Some aspects of the role may involve lone working.
Shift Patterns
This is a bank contract, ideal for those with a busy life who want to pick up shifts occasionally. Shifts include mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends, but may vary.
Role Responsibilities
This hands-on role involves varied daily tasks, including:
- Promoting independence
- Supporting daily activities, including cleaning, cooking, outings, or holidays
- Organising activities in the home and community
- Developing individual life skills and interests
- Helping individuals stay safe and healthy
- Providing personal care
- Supporting medication management
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service monitoring
