Purpose of the Job
To assist the Head of School and Deputy Head of School in managing and organizing this diverse academy to achieve high standards of pupil achievement and school efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Direction and Development
- Support the school's vision, ethos, and policies, promoting high achievement.
- Assist senior leaders and governors in achieving school aims.
- Participate in curriculum planning, monitoring, and evaluation as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Support staff in meeting school priorities and targets.
- Promote inclusion and support vulnerable groups, aligning with government initiatives.
- Teaching and Learning
- Organize and evaluate intervention strategies.
- Monitor and analyze teaching quality and student achievement, including performance data.
- Conduct pupil progress meetings and be accountable for student progress.
- Model high standards of classroom practice to foster effective learning and discipline.
- Leadership and Management
- Participate in staff performance management and professional development.
- Lead unit meetings, monitor provision, and participate in staff recruitment.
- Share responsibility for pastoral care and promote good communication and team working.
- Support extracurricular activities and foster positive relationships with parents and the community.
- Resource Management
- Address health and safety issues.
- Lead a curriculum area and contribute to school improvement.
- Undertake lunchtime duties and lead assemblies.
