Hours: 10 hours per week

You will be required to ensure the safety of children and pedestrians crossing the road. You must wear the appropriate uniform and use the equipment provided to ensure the safety of children, pedestrians, and yourself.

Main duties of the post include:

  • Maintain control over children who are awaiting your instructions to cross.
  • Report any problems or difficulties to the facilities co-ordinator.
  • Co-operate with the introduction of new procedures and/or new equipment/technology.
  • Be conversant with and operate at all times in accordance with current Health and Safety at Work Legislation.

It is essential that you have effective communication skills, demonstrate road sense, and are able to work in inclement weather. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of which will be determined by the duties of the post.

Working Pattern: 15-hour School Crossing Patroller position working between 0815 - 0915 and 1430 - 1530, Monday to Friday, during term time.
