People Partner Location: Birmingham / Hybrid – 2 days a week in the office Salary: £42,101 – £49,528 Hours: Full time Contract: Permanent Our primary purpose is to protect patient safety and maintain public confidence in dental services. To achieve this, we register qualified dental professionals, set standards for the dental team, investigate complaints about dental professionals\’ fitness to practise, and work to ensure the quality of dental education. The GDC employs approximately 400 staff based across a corporate centre in London and an operational hub in Birmingham. We also engage the services of over 500 associates and panellists who sit on our statutory committees, hearings and fitness to practise panels. The People Partner role: We have an exciting opportunity for a People Partner to join our team, providing a comprehensive partnering service to managers and staff on all people matters, working with the business to ensure delivery of corporate outcomes through innovative and customer focussed people solutions and actions. As a People Partner, reporting to the Senior People Partner, you will be based within a collaborative and supportive team of HR professionals and will play a pivotal role in facilitating the GDC and its managers in achieving its corporate strategy and business plan through its people.  Whilst the role will be a holistic people partner client-led post, you will hold portfolio responsibility for a specific aspect of People and Organisational Development strategy and practice. You will act as a subject matter expert developing frameworks and approaches to support your partner colleagues in delivering people solutions. About you: You’ll be an HR professional, CIPD Level 5 or above qualified, with demonstrable experience of working in human resources, partnering with the business to identify and enact workforce solutions. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills – credible at management level and able to challenge the status quo. Excellent working knowledge of current employment law and best practice with significant experience of challenging employee relations issues and disputes through to resolution. Confident in interpreting and using management information to, develop insight, and present in a user-friendly way, to inform action. Strong project skills with evidence of working independently and taking responsibility for meeting agreed targets. Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured policies and reports.
