Location: Aylesford
We are looking for an experienced Façade Engineer to join the Engineering team. You will take the lead on designing, engineering and documenting façade project enquiries, using a broad range of products and services.
You should be confident designing and developing facades for both residential and commercial projects, including rear-ventilated facades, and preparing technical drawings and specifications. Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and providing support during construction is key.
What you will be doing:
- Produce full facade engineering designs using computer-aided design software.
- Carry out structural and thermal design and analysis calculations to current codes and standards.
- Provide specialist input on facade projects, solving technical problems quickly and effectively.
- Ensure quality standards are met on all projects.
- Research design options and document findings to support decisions.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and innovations.
- Manage and deliver projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Work closely with technical managers and sales reps on all technical aspects of projects.
- Support project teams with implementation - including site and factory inspections, quality audits and reporting.
- Take ownership of defined tasks, check your own work, and maintain high standards.
- Prepare reports, letters and other documents using company templates.
- Represent the team at external meetings and communicate technical information clearly.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants and other designers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Meet agreed project deadlines and deliverables.
- Respond to project enquiries quickly - full calculations within 48 hours and general technical enquiries within 24 hours.
What we are looking for:
- Degree in façade or civil engineering (membership of the Society of Façade Engineering is a bonus).
- Experience designing rear-ventilated facades and knowledge of façade support and fastening systems.
- Familiar with a range of façade materials - aluminium, stone, glazing, timber, composites and curtain walling.
- Comfortable using AutoCAD and thermal analysis tools like WUFI.
- Strong communicator, team player, and problem solver with good attention to detail.
