Human Resources Officer

As HR officer you will drive the HR strategy and establish yourself as the “go to” point of reference for our managers and staff team. You will have a background in social care and/or residential children's services. You will be a front-line HR generalist with at least 2 years in a similar role. You will have great communication skills and the capacity to be both. You may be a senior HR co-ordinator and you will have the skills of an exceptional multitasker, with a passion for staff engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with recruitment and onboarding
  • Ensuring employees have correct pay and benefits - Holiday pay/Maternity/Paternity/Neo-natal
  • Producing and managing all employee documentation – offer letter/job description, KPI’s
  • Ensuring inductions are planned and implemented
  • Ensuring compliance with training and development programmes
  • Recording processing and storage of confidential employee information
  • Ensuring offboarding processes are completed and recorded
  • Managing employee queries and concerns
  • Coordination of absence management
  • Employee health, safety and welfare

Requirements

  • Completion of min. level 3 CIPD
  • 2 years in a similar role – HR assistant/Snr. HR admin/HR Officer
  • Care background is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of HRIS systems
  • Office based role with limited home working options
  • Some limited travel

Employee Relations Officer

As employee relations officer you will have experience of the broad range of ER issues, from managing conflict and mediation through to full investigations, disciplinary, grievance and appeals. You will have an appetite for detail and you will be hungry to create the best employee experience possible. With a level-headed approach, you will manage a range of ER cases across the business and you will plan and develop engagement initiatives to enhance the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for employees and managers in all Employee relations matters, providing support and guidance
  • Deal with all employee concerns, conflicts and disputes
  • Guide and assist in all performance management matters
  • Conduct all investigations, disciplinaries, appeals and grievances
  • Ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records on all ER matters
  • Liaising with legal representatives, trade union personnel, conciliation staff in relation to ER cases
  • Preparing reports and analysis
  • Design and deploy a range of employee engagement initiatives
  • Lead on retention initiatives and produce retention reports on a quarterly basis
  • Lead on staff welfare initiatives
  • Employee health, safety and welfare

Salary & Benefits

  • £32-£35k

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth. Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently. Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare management, or a related field is preferred.
