About the role
We are looking to recruit an exceptional Teacher of English who will have the opportunity to deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 (Year 7-9) and 4 (Year 10-11). Key responsibilities include:
- Providing excellent, inspirational and dedicated teaching in a safe and stimulating environment.
- Planning lessons and schemes of work both independently and collaboratively with the English Department.
- Monitoring the development, progress and attainment of all pupils, sharing this information with pupils, parents/guardians and colleagues.
A well-qualified and passionate individual, the successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and a commitment to supporting pupils to achieve the highest levels of academic success. The English Department at North Bridge House comprises a friendly and highly collaborative team who would support the induction and professional development of the successful candidate. All staff at North Bridge House are actively involved in the pastoral life of the school. The role will also offer the opportunity for contribution to the varied and vibrant extra-curricular programme.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an individual with good secondary school education and a degree in English (or a related subject) or a PGCE in English with another undergraduate degree. They will also have experience of working with young people through teaching or other work as well as an ability to make English accessible to a range of abilities.
