Job Title: Claims Specialist Duration: 18 month fixed-term contract Rate/Salary: £55,000-65,000 annual salary (subject to experience) Location: London/home based (flexible – one day onsite per fortnight) The R ole: Responsible for life, critical illness and income protection claims decisions within agreed limits. * Continually validating claim procedures and practices so that appropriate risk decisions are made. * Full participation in the external visibility programme including attending client meetings, seminars and industry events and reporting back accordingly. * Enhancing the employer brand through speaking opportunities and producing industry relevant articles. * Taking part in the Claims audit programme producing reports and recommendations as required. * Providing technical expertise to the Business Development team during protection business tenders and other in-house initiatives. Experience Required: * The successful professional must have 3-5+ years individual protection claims assessment experience covering Critical Illness lines. * Life & death, and Income Protection claims experience also highly desirable. * CII Claims Diploma highly desirable. * Must have sound working knowledge of the UK protection market, products, claims practices. * Must have sound working knowledge of the relevant codes of practice and legislation.
