One of the UK's largest confectionary companies is looking for a junior Lab Technician to join their team in Reading. This role is suitable for someone who has an interest/qualification in the food and/or science industry.
Responsibilities:
- These positions will be a flexible technician role working across different departments including analytical, food product development and food manufacturing.
- Working in different laboratories as demand requires.
- Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.
- Perform a range of basic routine analysis, product manufacturing and sample preparation under supervision of a senior member of staff.
- Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
- Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration where required.
- Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results.
- Follow product formulations and methods considering standard operating procedures and food safety to produce food products at bench scale or manufacturing.
- Operate basic lab and manufacturing equipment as directed.
- Be competent in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role: Laboratory's LIMS system, Q-Pulse, etc.
- Perform admin and housekeeping duties as directed.
Qualifications:
- A levels in a scientific discipline would be preferred.
