What is Teachers of Tomorrow?

This innovative 12-week programme provides graduates with a degree in Maths, English, Science, Design & Technology, or Modern Foreign Languages the opportunity to gain real classroom experience while receiving expert mentoring and training. It’s the perfect way to test the waters before committing to a full PGCE!

What’s Involved?

  • A fully paid, full-time school placement in a mainstream secondary school attached to a specific department in your subject area.
  • A weekly training session led by a mentor from Sunderland University to develop key teaching skills.
  • The chance to work alongside experienced teachers, gaining hands-on experience in lesson planning, behaviour management, and classroom engagement.
  • 25 places available in our first cohort, with future opportunities based on the success of this pilot.
