Skills and Competencies

  • Highly organized, able to multi-task and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Understanding of fixed income and structured finance (a plus)
  • Experience with financial models and scorecards, especially in credit risk or structured finance
  • Understanding of model development processes

Education

  • MSc or PhD in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or related fields
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage junior staff within the Business Analyst team
  • Develop knowledge of Moody's Credit Rating Models and Scorecards
  • Assist in drafting requirements for model development
  • Create user guides and train users on models and scorecards
  • Draft and review Model Specification Documents
  • Coordinate responses to model-related requests from internal and external parties
  • Lead submissions of software updates and document model errors
  • Train rating and analytical teams on models and scorecards

About The Team

The Model and Methodology Development Group at Moody's oversees methodology, model, scorecard, and tool development. The Business Analyst Team owns the business logic, documentation, and approval processes.
