Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Norfolk-based team. The successful candidate will lead on the design of foul and surface water drainage systems, undertake flood risk assessments, and conduct water quality assessments. Key Responsibilities
- Design foul and surface water drainage systems to relevant UK standards.
- Complete Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) in line with planning and policy requirements.
- Undertake water quality assessments and provide sustainable drainage recommendations.
- Produce detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Model drainage systems using Causeway Flow or similar hydraulic modelling software.
- Collaborate with clients, regulators, and project partners to ensure smooth delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge development.
- Support bids, reporting, and technical documentation as needed.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Experience in the civil/environmental engineering industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with drainage modelling software (e.g., Causeway Flow).
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy related to flood risk and drainage.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and time management skills.
- Genuine passion for the environment and water quality.
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
Desirable:
- Experience with SuDS and green infrastructure.
- Liaison with the Environment Agency or Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFAs).
- Working towards chartership (ICE, CIWEM) or similar professional accreditation.
