The predicted salary is between 48000 - 84000 £ per year.
As a Lead Engineer you’ll be managing and leading a frontend squad who are responsible for building and looking after our customer acquisition journeys (carded and loan products) and our marketing sites that have a reach to multimillions of customers. With another new retail addition to our portfolio, your team will also be building that entire customer journey from the ground up. The role is a blend of people management responsibilities with a hands-on and focused approach to ensure continuous improvement of our products from both customer and technical perspectives. - Leadership of an engineering team inclusive of people management, with the goal of a high-performance, self-sufficient, autonomous team.
- Learning, growth, and mentorship of the engineering team to accelerate their career growth and encourage them to progress.
- Facilitation and collaboration with engineers, product owners, and other colleagues to seek exciting and results-oriented problems for delivering value.
- Ownership of the production operation and monitoring of products in line with SLAs.

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
- Team management – Including 121’s.
- Integrating with services via RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Knowledge on Front End Frameworks e.g. Next JS, Remix.
- Strong testing experience from code quality through to security, customer journeys, and accessibility.
- Excellent knowledge of writing semantic, accessible, and modular front-end code.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies.
- Designing and implementing high-quality cloud software solutions, ideally with Azure.
And would love you to know or learn:
- Practical experience setting up and running CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions.
- Using Storybook, atomic design principles, and design language systems.
- Backend for Front End (BFF) Architecture.
- Monitoring and observability to maintain high-quality products.
