We are looking for a skilled and highly passionate Lead Technology Architect to champion the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide architecture strategy and drive digital transformation through technology innovation, resilient communications, workplace productivity, cyber, cloud, and general infrastructure.
You will support the development of our technology strategy (OT & IT), horizon-scanning, investing in emerging technologies, and managing the technology life cycle. This role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and a passion for driving innovation and seeking value across our portfolio in a structured, well-governed, and independent way of working.
You will lead a team of Domain Architects who will support Solution Architects and who will own and produce Strategic Long-Range Plans within their area of expertise. You will hold responsibility for the opex and capex health across solution proposals within your domain. You will ensure that strategic themes are clear across the Long-Range Plan, providing incremental planning updates to the Director of EA & Technology Strategy on a quarterly basis. You will play a key decision-making role in architectural review boards and other strategic forums.
Key accountabilities:- Define and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Establish architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
- Lead architectural reviews, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.
- Ensure technology choices consider factors like value, productivity gains, scalability, supportability, and appropriateness.
- Ensure key artifacts are in place from principles, strategy, policies/standards, high- and low-level designs.
- Lead the development of reference architectures for cloud, applications, data, integration, and security.
- Oversee solution architectures for major initiatives to ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
- Facilitate a design authority capability to ensure that impacts to business capabilities, business models, and operating models are effectively integrated and optimised.
- Communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in Enterprise Architecture or Senior Technology roles (ideally 10 years +). Awareness of a broad range of technology solutions across OT and IT. Understanding of the industry and its specific challenges and opportunities. Significant experience in IT Architecture within FMCG/CPG. Experience in Zero trust network architecture, although not essential. Experience in Cloud FinOps, although not essential. Experience in Public Cloud, hyperconverged infrastructure (e.g., Nutanix), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Expertise in Identity and Access Management, although not essential.
Proven strategic leadership, setting technology standards and roadmaps for large organisations. Demonstrable ability to mentor and develop technical team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Certifications in TOGAF, BIZBOK, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or similar frameworks.
Desirable: Established and run a robust Enterprise Architecture department with operating models.
