Join to apply for the Senior Development Editor role at Macmillan Education Working within the Publishing Content Development team, the Senior Development Editor manages content development from initial writing brief to publication, ensuring high quality and alignment with the publishing vision. The role primarily focuses on the Primary portfolio, involving commissioning, liaising with overseas markets, and overseeing content delivery within schedule and budget. The Senior Development Editor line manages Development Editors, providing mentoring, training, and support. Collaboration with various teams ensures market needs are met and publishing objectives are achieved. Role Responsibilities: Understand the publishing vision and business needs. Prepare author briefs with the Commissioning Editor based on market research. Identify potential authors and content creators. Commission and develop material with authors, providing feedback to meet the brief. Monitor content development issues to ensure timely delivery within budget. Understand budgeting and financial implications. Negotiate and manage content development contracts. Recruit and induct new staff, managing performance and development. Participate in training to develop skills. Experience, Qualifications, Skills: Essential: Degree or equivalent education Formal ELT/TEFL qualification ELT/EFL teaching experience (primary, secondary, or adult) Publishing background, ideally in ELT Excellent written English Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks Strong interpersonal and communication skills Positive attitude and commitment Teamwork and organizational skills Desirable: Knowledge of ELT markets Understanding of diverse teaching situations Publishing technologies knowledge Second language proficiency Content management systems familiarity Experience with digital media projects Teamworking experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
