Graduate Chemical Engineer's Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Develop Teams: Provide operational leadership, skill development, and succession planning to build a high-performing shift team.
  • Drive Operational Efficiency: Implement decisions to optimize cost per tonne through efficient raw material processing and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure Engineering and Maintenance Standards: Manage both proactive and reactive engineering tasks, supporting maintenance plans and budgets.
  • Champion Safety and Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture, ensure adherence to QES&H standards, and lead site response in incidents.
  • Foster Collaboration and Standardization: Work with other managers and experts to share best practices and ensure consistent policy implementation across the site.
Skills & Experience Required as a Graduate Chemical Engineer:
  • Must have a Chemical Engineering qualification at degree level as a minimum.
  • An understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop a high performing team.
  • Must have a full UK Driving License with access to a car for commuting (site is in a remote location so public transport is not suitable).
  • Have a willingness to learn and take on training in role.

This is a full time permanent role working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern working 12 hour shifts, rotating between nights and days.
