In this role, you will work as part of a team of Contract Lawyers to provide quality proactive legal advice on issues including, but not limited to, Public Contract Regulations, Company law, Subsidy Control, NEC and JCT construction Contracts, and general contract queries. You will manage a full, varied, and demanding caseload.

Senior Lawyers' Role

Senior Lawyers actively participate in team management and are expected to deputise for the Principal Solicitor, contributing to the delivery of first-class legal services.

Profile

The successful candidate will be a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX, eligible to practice in England and Wales, with a current practicing certificate from the relevant regulatory authority.

  • Experience in negotiating and drafting construction contracts, service agreements, and facilities management services.
  • Ability to provide solutions-focused, enabling advice across various legal matters and learn quickly about unfamiliar subjects.
  • Strong client and organizational skills to lead and contribute in meetings, providing excellent client care.
  • Ability to advise Members and Senior Officers of the Council.

Please note that advocacy is not part of this role.

Job Offer

The starting salary ranges from £59,868 to £65,755 per annum, depending on experience, based on a 36-hour workweek.
