The Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS) to join a leading utility and civil engineering contractor working on vital infrastructure schemes across the UK. The role will be based in London, with projects located in the Luton region. The successful candidate will be involved in two live reservoir schemes operating under NEC contracts, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, sustainable projects as part of a nationally recognised team.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a similar environment, particularly on NEC3 or NEC4 contracts, and be ready to hit the ground running. They will demonstrate a solid understanding of commercial processes and contractual frameworks, have a proactive approach to managing project finances, and be confident supporting multiple stakeholders across live infrastructure projects. A background in utilities, water, or civil engineering schemes is highly beneficial, along with a keen eye for detail and a drive to deliver results in a collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer NEC contracts (Option A or C preferred) across the full project lifecycle.
  • Support the preparation and management of cost reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Assist with procurement and subcontractor engagement and administration.
  • Monitor and assess compensation events, early warnings, and contractual notices.
  • Provide cost management support including valuations, change control, and risk monitoring.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Assist in preparing commercial documentation and reporting tools, including Excel and contract-specific software.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience working on NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
  • Excellent knowledge of cost management principles and commercial processes.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with contract reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with wider teams.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
  • Immediate availability preferred.
