This is a fixed term contract until 31st December 2025. This role is part of our eBay Inhouse team, where you will be employed by DEPT but embedded within eBay.
JOB PURPOSE
We are currently seeking a Content Strategist with robust writing skills to join eBay's B2C Global Seller Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the world's largest online marketplaces. In this dynamic role, you will develop messaging for new marketing and regulatory communications throughout the remainder of 2025. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Community & Engagement, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to craft messaging for various B2C projects. This involves creating diverse content from messaging frameworks and terminology databases to technical writing and customer support scripts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create clear, effective and original copy and content across multiple digital platforms and topics such as Marketing, Regulatory or Product enhancements.
- Collaborate with Global Program Leads and Business units on key messaging for different campaigns, ensuring the copy meets expectations and B2C guidelines.
- Ensure consistency and high-quality messaging across all channels, including identifying areas in which eBay can win and go to market opportunities.
- Review and align content with the established messaging framework.
- Liaise with communication stakeholders to facilitate proper understanding and usage of provided terminology.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in our processes and messaging frameworks and implement them.
- Provide Ad-hoc campaign support.
- Coordinate timelines for the launch of different campaigns and support in other projects.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 7+ years of experience in various content writing, including messaging frameworks, terminology databases, technical writing, social media posts and phone scripts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a relevant discipline is a plus.
- Familiarity with the ecommerce sector, online selling, and cross-border trading.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly, succinctly and persuasively.
- Experience working in a global function.
- Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and team members by getting appropriate feedback in a timely manner to hit deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and understand diverse projects and priorities.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work varied hours to support team members across Europe and sometimes the USA.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
- Knowledge of German is a plus.
- Understanding channel strategy including email marketing, onsite banners, social media, community boards, and telephone marketing is a plus.
