The Division of Medicine is looking to fill a vacancy within Acute Medicine in order to increase the consultant capacity within the acute medical team. It is full time based on a 10 PA contract, although less than full-time would be considered. A ‘special’ interest (as defined by the Acute Internal Medicine curriculum or dual CCT) will be considered.
The Trust is based on two Acute sites with Acute Medical services on each site. The Acute Stroke unit is based at Calderdale Hospital along with specialist Cardiology and Respiratory wards and the specialist Gastroenterology and Oncology/Haematology wards are based at Huddersfield with specialist Frailty and Care of the Elderly services.
The successful applicant will form part of our Acute Medical Consultant team, providing Acute services across the two Trust sites. Successful candidates will be expected to cover our two Acute Floors, Short Stay/outlying wards, Medical Same Day Emergency Care (MSDEC) unit and EDs (Admission Avoidance).
Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register. In accordance with the regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the GMC Specialist Register to be considered for a consultant appointment by the Advisory Appointments Committee. Applicants must continue to hold a License to Practice.
