Student Support Worker/Learning Support Assistant Location: Barnsley Start Date: ASAP Hours: 37 hours per week Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00 Friday: 08:30 – 16:30 Pay Rate: £13 per hour DBS Requirement: Must have an enhanced DBSAbout the Role: We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Learning Support Worker to provide essential support to young people in Barnsley. The role involves working with learners who display complex and challenging behaviours, helping them re-engage with their education and achieve their potential. Strong behaviour management skills and a proactive approach are key to success in this role. Main Responsibilities: Supporting learners with complex and challenging behaviours to achieve academic and personal goals. Delivering individualized support based on learners’ unique needs and support plans. Assisting learners to participate fully in teaching, workshops, and other educational activities. Providing one-on-one and group support as required in various learning environments. Ensuring accurate completion of all required documentation. Helping learners access facilities and services as appropriate. Offering support during assessments, including exams. Producing clear and high-quality written information for learners. Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of services. Engaging in training and development activities to enhance skills and service delivery.About You: This role is ideal for someone who is: Adaptable and resilient when working with challenging behaviours.
