Are you a highly motivated individual with a passion for engines and a strong safety focus? Randstad is partnering with a leading global manufacturer in Shrewsbury to find an Engine Test Operative. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the production of high-quality engines. While the hiring process may not be immediate, we encourage prompt applications.
Job type: Temporary - Ongoing
Location: Shrewsbury (SY1 3NX)
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday - 07:30AM - 17:15PM
Pay rate: £13.69 PER HOUR, dependant on experience and overtime where available. Overtime available for any work on Fridays where available. Sunday would be paid at premium overtime rates!
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring product is always handled in a safe manner around the Test Department.
- Raise Safety, Environmental and Ergonomic concerns immediately using the appropriate platforms.
- Manage activity as required in the Bay or Cell, as requested by the Team Leader in the morning brief.
- The safe use of various cranes, vehicles, and hand tools in and around the Test Department.
- Ensuring full & accurate detail is logged into the Test systems, allowing full traceability thereafter.
- Provide verbal and hands-on assistance to Assembly and support teams as required.
- Provide initial & ongoing training to new team members.

- Willingness and enthusiasm to succeed and complete tasks to deadlines.
- Good planning and organizational skills are required, as are teamwork skills.
- Proactive Safety approach to situations.
- Ability to use on-site vehicles: A1 / A2 pedestrian trucks for material movement and cell loading.
- Demonstrated familiarity with rigging of Engines or Transmissions.
- Demonstrated familiarity with EAS (Engine Acceptance Schedules) and TCDM.
- Demonstrated familiarity with QAD-EE.
