Role Overview We are looking for a Transport Planner with a sharp commercial mindset and a proactive approach to logistics planning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning routes across the UK and through the pallet network, with a strong focus on identifying and securing backhaul loads to maximize trip profitability. Key Responsibilities * Plan and optimise daily transport routes across the UK and through the pallet network * Strategically identify and secure backhaul opportunities to increase revenue per trip * Use planning tools (preferably Qargo) to manage and adjust schedules in real-time * Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to ensure smooth operations * Monitor transport performance and adjust plans to meet service and cost targets * Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and company policies * Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Requirements * Proven experience in transport or logistics planning, ideally within a pallet network or UK-wide distribution * Strong commercial acumen with a focus on cost-efficiency and revenue generation * Ability to forward plan and adapt quickly to operational changes * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Proficient in transport planning tools; experience with Qargo is highly desirable * Solid understanding of UK road networks and transport regulations Salary £45,000 to £50,000 plus car allowance * Bonus scheme (Business performance) * Company Pension * On site parking * Free Gym membership * Company events * Birthday (day off) * 20 days + BHols
