Role Title: Service Manager – Children with Disabilities (CwD) Rate: Β£450 per day or 357.60 PAYE (Umbrella) Contract Type: Interim – 3 months (with potential for extension) Work Arrangement: Hybrid (on-site and remote) Location: Town Hall, Main Road, Romford RM1 3AR Local Authority: London Borough of Havering Please note: Registered social workers will not be considered for this post. Key Focus The Service Manager will: Manage, lead, and oversee the daily operations of the Children with Disabilities (CwD) Service, ensuring high standards of practice in line with statutory guidance and best practice. Work closely with the Strategic Head of Service for Early Help, CwD, and Family Support to continuously improve service delivery, driven by performance, risk, and demand.Key Deliverables Supervise and support staff to ensure effective service provision to children, young people, and families. Oversee accurate and timely case recording across all relevant systems. Lead on recruitment, training, assessment, and support of carers. Collaborate with the Head of Service to plan and develop services, identifying needs and challenges proactively. Manage team budgets effectively, ensuring services are financially sustainable. Produce timely reports and represent the service in key internal and external meetings/forums.Working Model Hybrid: Flexible working with presence required at our Town Hall campus and local hubs. Face-to-Face Priority: All meetings with children and families are conducted in person to ensure quality engagement.Candidate Requirements Management Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Team Manager or above. Practice Background: Significant experience in children and families’ services, including statutory assessment and safeguarding.
