Are you an experienced housing professional with a passion for supporting vulnerable households? We’re working with an established Housing Service; our client is seeking two Temporary Accommodation Officers to join their dedicated team supporting families and individuals in emergency accommodation. This is a community-based role with a strong focus on lettings administration, as the service brings in a significant number of new properties into its temporary accommodation portfolio.
Vacancy Brief:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- Pay Rate for this job role is £16.45 PAYE or £20.78 Umbrella.
- Temp contract running until the end of November 2025
- Based 2–3 days in the office, with some remote working available
- Remainder of the week will involve property visits across the community
- Focus areas include Voids, Lettings, Income Management and ASB
- Strong lettings admin and tenancy sign-up experience is highly desirable
- Must have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce) required
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of clients in temporary accommodation, providing housing advice, tenancy support and casework
- Delivering housing management tasks including rent recovery, arrears, void turnaround, property sign-ups and repairs coordination
- Ensure effective communication with clients, internal departments, and external partners
- Support sustainable move-ons from temporary accommodation by providing tailored housing options advice
- Maintain accurate case files, contribute to service improvements and help meet team KPIs
- Work in a flexible, citizen-focused manner across a range of temporary accommodation sites in the city
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Background in housing management, lettings, or tenancy sustainment
- Experience in handling ASB, income recovery, voids and property compliance
- Strong administrative skills, particularly around tenancy sign-ups and property onboarding
- Comfortable working independently in the community
- A proactive, organised team player with a commitment to customer-focused service delivery
