Contract type: Fixed term contract to 28th March 2026
Location: Office Base is flexible. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working. Travel to BBC offices across UK is expected.

Interview process
The interviews are expected to be held between Thursday 5th June/Friday 6th June. They will be held on Teams and be a blend of BBC values and technical questions.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Change Manager to join this programme. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about driving positive change, this role is for you.
Main Responsibilities
You will work with the programme team to ensure there is a compelling vision for the “future state” with clearly defined benefits. Through the application of business change techniques, you will engage with the programme and business stakeholders to identify the change impacts on the business, assess business readiness, and ensure sufficient engagement to adopt planned changes and realise sustainable business benefit. Working with the programme director, programme manager and the wider programme team, you’ll plan and co-ordinate all change activity and stages of the work in the wider context of the programme.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Develop and lead the Change Management Strategy, designing and planning interventions to successfully embed change
- Conduct change impact assessments aligned to the target operating model (TOM) or blueprint
- Identify and map stakeholders, and develop communication plans to support engagement throughout the programme lifecycle
- Lead the implementation of change plans, monitoring progress against success criteria and business acceptance measures
- Deliver learning and development activities, including needs analysis, training plans, and supporting materials
- Drive engagement to embed new ways of working and ensure the realisation of sustainable business benefits
- Establish and lead change agent networks within the business, where appropriate
- Report progress, risks, and issues to relevant governance forums and escalate as needed
- Support the development and delivery of the benefits realisation plan
Are you the right candidate?
The successful candidate will be an established Lead Change Manager with extensive experience of managing, implementing and monitoring change within complex projects and programmes. You will bring a wealth of experience managing stakeholders and building credibility across the organisation and functions, coupled with a proven ability to gain buy-in to enable change to happen through others.
Essential Skills/experience Include
- Relevant qualification, such as Change Management Institute ACMF, MSP Practitioner, APMG – Change Management, Prosci ADKAR Model, or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience in initiating, managing, and delivering transformational change programmes
- Strong knowledge of change management principles, with the ability to advise on best practice approaches
- Proven ability to manage benefits effectively and align them with organisational goals
- Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to remain effective under pressure, navigate ambiguity, and respond to shifting priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong project and organisational skills, with proficiency in planning, risk, and dependency management within a programme context
Desirable Skills/experience Include
- Experience of working on extended workforce projects
