About the role: Our Board Members contribute to strategic decision-making, providing an independent viewpoint and challenge and help shape our vision and strategies to deliver a great service for our customers. The particular skills and experience we require at this time are around IT, cyber security data and organisational development. This is a fantastic opportunity to join Bristol’s largest independent Housing Association at a key time as we launch our new corporate strategy, “Brighter Places 2030” which focuses on our commitment to delivering a great service to our customers and significant investment in the quality of our homes. We are looking for people who can embrace our social purpose and are passionate about making a difference for our customers. About you: You don’t have to come from a social housing background, we see skills and experiences around IT and cyber (including AI) and organisational development as highly transferable. Prior experience as a Board or Committee member, or an understanding of the social housing sector and the regulatory context within which we operate, would be useful but is not essential, as training and support can be provided. Additional skills and experience includes: * Ability to quickly absorb and interpret complex information, identifying key issues and risks. * Strong awareness of long-term implications and external factors affecting strategy. * Ability to emonstrates authority, consistency, and collaboration whilst motivating others and building trust. * Being committed to inclusive and collaborative working with fellow Board members and partners. * Being aligned with our values of accountability, openness, transparency, and equality * Excelent interpersonal and communication skills. A connection to our area and/or lived experience in social housing will be especially welcome. We have a diverse range of customers and would like our Board to be representative of this. We very much encourage applications from people of all ages over 18, ethnicities and backgrounds. The Board currently meets about seven times a year with sub committees meeting quarterly. Meetings usually take place in Bristol from 4pm – 6pm, ideally in person but virtual is also available. Your expected contribution will be approximately 15 days per annum. If you are excited by our work, share our values and want to play an active part in the work of our Board and Committees, we would love to hear from you
