We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Field Sales Representative to join our dynamic team in the commercial groundscare industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business, building strong customer relationships, and promoting our high-quality range of garden machinery products. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a driven sales professional to work independently, manage their own territory, and contribute to the growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Generation: Identify and target new sales opportunities within the territory. Drive sales of commercial machinery products, spare parts, sundries, workshop work and hire to B2B customers.
  • Relationship Building: Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners. Provide exceptional customer service to ensure long-term customer loyalty and retention.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of the product range and industry trends to effectively present, demonstrate, and sell machinery products to customers.
  • Customer Engagement: Conduct on-site visits, product demonstrations, and attend trade shows or events as needed to increase product visibility and drive sales.
  • Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Accurately report sales activities, pipeline status, and customer feedback. Provide regular updates on progress against targets and market trends to the Sales Manager.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate terms and close sales in line with company guidelines, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Travel & Territory Management: Plan and organise travel to meet with customers, attend events, and manage your territory effectively. Flexibility for occasional travel as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a field sales role, ideally within the garden machinery or related industries (e.g., power tools, outdoor equipment).
  • Sales Skills: Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets. Ability to negotiate and close sales effectively.
  • Product Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of machinery products, including features, benefits, and market trends.
  • Customer Focus: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric approach to sales.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, particularly in customer-facing situations.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and work independently to meet targets.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using CRM software, sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Driving License: Full, clean driving license with a willingness to travel within the designated territory. Ability to tow a trailer desired but not essential.
