Bay Tree House, located in Heysham, Lancashire, is a mental health crisis unit operating in Morecambe. We follow a recovery model and provide a 24-hour staffed service to residents aged 16 and above, including hospital prevention, step-down, respite, and crisis point support.

As a Day Recovery Worker, you will:

  • liaise with clinical teams regarding referrals and service users' presentations, making referral decisions accordingly
  • support individuals experiencing low mood, depression, anxiety, mania, voice hearing, delusions, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts, helping them develop coping strategies
  • participate in group programs addressing substance abuse, mental or physical illnesses, poverty, unemployment, or abuse

No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided. Candidates with understanding of mental health issues or lived experience are encouraged to apply. Essential qualities include a caring and compassionate nature, empathy, enthusiasm for helping others, and the ability to work independently and in a team. Availability for weekly rota and on-call duties is required.
