About Bay Tree House

Bay Tree House is a mental health crisis unit providing 24-hour staffed services for residents aged 16 and above. We operate on a recovery model, offering support through referrals for hospital prevention, step-down, respite, and crisis point support.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinical teams to discuss referrals and assess clinical presentations.
  • Support individuals experiencing low mood, depression, anxiety, mania, voice hearing, delusions, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.
  • Assist clients in developing coping strategies for crisis situations.
  • Participate in group work programs addressing substance abuse, mental or physical health issues, poverty, unemployment, or abuse.

Qualifications and Skills

No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided. Candidates with understanding of mental health issues or lived experience are encouraged to apply. The key qualities are a caring and compassionate nature, empathy, enthusiasm for helping others, ability to work independently and in a team, and willingness to participate in a weekly rota and on-call duties.
