Head of Enterprise Architecture & Technology Strategy

London | Hybrid

This role will suit an Enterprise Architecture Executive to lead a global architecture transformation program across a Fortune 500-scale enterprise. Accountable for defining and operationalizing a federated enterprise architecture model that drives modernization, innovation, agility, and long-term business value.

Reporting directly to the CIO/CTO, you will act as the strategic architecture authority, embedding governance, tooling, and decision frameworks that enable secure, scalable, and cloud-native digital ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and champion the enterprise-wide architecture vision and North Star aligned to business strategy
• Establish and lead a Federated EA Operating Model across business, data, technology, application, and security domains
• Build and run architecture governance (principles, taxonomies, reference models, review boards)
• Oversee implementation and value realization of EA tooling (LeanIX, Apptio, Planview, ORBUS, Signavio)
• Design and deliver strategic IT roadmaps incorporating cloud-native, GenAI, and AI/ML technologies
• Lead portfolio rationalization and modernization decisions using a standardized, data-driven APM/APR framework
• Drive adoption of Policy-as-Code to ensure governance and compliance is embedded into CI/CD pipelines
• Partner with CxOs and domain leaders to ensure architecture drives measurable business outcomes
• Embed architecture metrics and enable executive-level technology investment decisioning

Required Experience & Skills:

• 20+ years in IT strategy and enterprise architecture roles, with 10+ years in senior leadership
• Proven success implementing federated EA models at enterprise scale
• Expertise across all architectural domains (business, data, application, technology, and security)
• Frameworks: TOGAF, Zachman, BIZBOK, FEAF, FSAM (TOGAF certification essential; FEAC Green Belt highly desirable)
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale technology rationalization and cloud transition initiatives
• Strong grasp of GenAI, AI/ML , low-code/no-code , API-first and multi-cloud (AWS/GCP) strategies
• Board-level stakeholder engagement experience with ability to simplify complexity into action
• Experience in regulated environments (e.g., financial services, insurance)
• Experience embedding architecture as a service model across product-aligned organizations
• Track record of influencing investment portfolios and securing executive buy-in for transformation agendas
