As a Group Support Volunteer, you will support and encourage people affected by dementia to engage in activities and socialise with others in a group setting. You will be a friendly face at the group, welcoming and talking to participants to help them feel comfortable, and ensuring they are offered refreshments. Additionally, you will help set up and tidy away at the end of the session.
Your involvement will help people affected by dementia meet others in similar situations, access support and information, and enjoy meaningful activities.
This role involves supporting our Dementia Cafe in Preston, which usually takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at St Cuthbert's Church in Fulwood. Volunteers are expected to attend from 10 am to 1 pm.
