A typical day in the life of a Senior Rehabilitation Officer involves working in a busy, fast-paced team that supports crisis response, hospital discharges, falls, and assistive technology. The Duty Office is manned 24/7 and serves as the hub of all operations and source of support for people.

Non-contact time is spent at Billet Lane, our registered base, to ensure readiness to respond to crises in the community, update training, submit referrals, complete case notes, and meet with supervisors and teams.

Shifts are from 7am to 1.35pm and 4pm to 10.30pm, involving travel to people’s homes to deliver care and support. You would typically support between 5 and 7 people per shift with their daily living routines and maximising independence.

The nature of the support includes:

  • Personal care
  • Support with mobility
  • Medication management
  • Nutrition

  • Working with and referring for aids, adaptations, and assistive technologies

You will complete, follow, and update support plans, case notes, audits, and risk assessments as part of your daily routine. You will be issued with a works smartphone and laptop to assist with day-to-day tasks, including scheduling, sending, and responding to messages/emails.

You will need to be accessible and responsive, ready to respond to crises, such as lifting cushions and pendant alarm calls, and support families and individuals in accessing information and signposting to other agencies.

Entry-level posts consist of reablement assistant roles, both days and nights, within our transition and roving night services. Day posts are 25 hours per week, and night posts are 24/16 hours following a rolling rota.
