A brand new opportunity has become available, working for a hugely popular CNC machine tool provider with scope for international travel on projects. As the sole UK agent to a European brand, their CNC machine tools are globally recognized. They have a strong network of service engineers, both here in the UK and in Europe. This position provides the chance to work with cutting edge CNC machinery, offering essential support to manufacturers across your region.

This role will involve a lot of product training and investment from the company to bring you up to date with their full machine tool range. Once fully trained, this role would require someone flexible enough to travel to other countries, possibly at short notice depending on project urgency.

Benefits include an excellent basic salary, a realistic OTE of £55 - £60K including paid door to door, weekday and weekend overtime rates, company vehicle with choice of car or car allowance, meal allowances, mobile phone & laptop, 33 days holiday, death in service insurance, and a private pension.

Responsibilities for the service engineer include:

  • Carry out breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines including multi axis Mills and Lathes
  • Routine service and inspections, as well as fault finding
  • Carrying out both mechanical and minor electrical repairs to the machinery
  • Machine levelling and alignments
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
  • Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
  • Providing end user training and customer support both remotely and on site

Product training in Germany will be provided, along with job shadowing with engineers in the team.

We would love to hear from suitable candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience as a CNC service engineer, or service technician
  • Confidence with either electrical or mechanical breakdowns of machinery
  • Experience working with either FANUC or Siemens controls
  • Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections
  • Willingness to travel and work overseas frequently on projects
  • Clean driving license & UK Passport
