Convocation Center Manager

Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Convocation Center Manager . The Convocation Center Manager will be responsible for the successful financial and operational performance of the Georgia State University (GSU) Convocation Center.

Responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing daily operations, coordinating with various GSU units including maintenance, event production, marketing, security, and parking.
2. Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in line with industry standards and university policies.
3. Managing event evaluations, financial reviews, and contract negotiations.
4. Maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing timely communication.
5. Preparing and monitoring the annual operating budget and recommending capital improvements.
6. Ensuring compliance with safety standards, laws, and regulations, and recommending operational improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\’s degree and five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess or obtain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Preferred qualifications include industry certifications such as CFM or CFE, experience managing large facilities, and proficiency with systems like CMMS and EBMS.
• Successful candidates must pass background checks, including credit and criminal records.

• Location: Atlanta Campus
• Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:15 pm
• Salary: Commensurate with experience
