Location: Woodlands Hospital, Kettering

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full-time, Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 17.00

Salary: Depending on experiences + Benefits

The role: We currently have a great opportunity for a NHS Appointments Team Lead to join our team at Woodlands Hospital, based at Kettering. The main objective of the role is data quality and commitment to excellent Customer Service whilst ensuring close working relationships with teams across both hospitals.

You will have great communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to demonstrate experience in leading a team. As a NHS Appointments Team Leader, you will need to demonstrate significant experience in managing patient pathways. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively within a team-based environment.

You will be responsible for providing guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the team to perform at their optimum. This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role.

You will supervise the day-to-day activities of the team, build quality relationships, and provide a positive patient experience whilst ensuring accuracy of data throughout a patient’s journey. This role will report directly to the Hospital’s Administration Manager.

Key Duties:

  • Conduct Performance Development Reviews (PDR’s) and regular Team Meetings
  • Employee Rostering, Inductions and Absence Management
  • Manage the team to ensure complex patient pathways from multiple specialties, in line with the agreed Hospital Access Policy
  • Provide advice to Consultants and Administration teams where there is a lack of awareness or following of the policy
  • Liaise with Administrative, Operational and Clinical Teams to ensure that elective access standards are being actively monitored and managed
  • Managing the Hospital telephone system, ensuring all calls are answered in agreed timescales and directed accordingly
  • Ensure all records and reports are maintained and kept up to date
