We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support a 21-year-old individual living in Bishop Burton near Beverley with a visual impairment. The role involves 11 hours per week, supporting the individual in the community, assisting with existing activities, and encouraging participation in new activities.
The individual enjoys watching sports, socialising, and playing visually impaired sports such as cricket, golf, and goalball.
The hours are flexible and to be discussed. The rate of pay is £13.50 per hour.
The ideal candidate is interested in sports and willing to support the individual to become more independent and engage in new activities within the community.
DBS and reference checks are required for this position, with the costs met by the local authority.
This role is part of the Direct Payments Support Service, an in-house service provided by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, enabling service users to employ their own care and support staff. We support individuals with varying abilities and assist with advertising and recruitment for roles including support workers, carers, and personal assistants.
