Starting salary of over £22.5k (pro rata)! Help people of all ages live well & for longer by giving them a safe and happy experience when they come swimming. Pool Lifeguards ensure swimmers and non-swimmers keep coming back to their local swimming pool to enjoy activities such as lane swimming, pool parties, family swims, and swimming lessons - creating lasting happy memories of their local swimming pool.

Hours: 6.5 - Rota available on request. Hours will include earlies, daytime, evenings, and weekends. Everybody swimming pools are open 7 days a week – generally from 6am to 10pm (subject to each pool’s programme) and our lifeguards work on a shift rota basis across the week and weekends.
Salary: £22,778 pro rata per annum
Location: Nantwich Leisure Centre

Competency Assessment Date: TBC (approx 7 days after closing date). Please let us know before the closing date if you are unable to attend the assessment.
Candidates will be assessed on the following:
- Swim 100 metres on the front and then on the back (Continuously)
- Tread water for 30 seconds then climb out unaided without the use of steps or ladder
- Perform a contact rescue in Deep water (scenario based)
- 20 metre swim 20 metre tow timed swim (Conscious Casualty) to be completed in no more than 65 seconds
- 20 metre swim 10 metre timed swim (Unconscious casualty) to be completed in more than 45 seconds
- Spinal injury management in Deep water (Vice Grip) and trawl 10 metres
- Spinal injury management in shallow water (Head splint)
- Deep water recovery to the deepest part of the pool (depending on the pool range from 1.7 to 3 metres), perform rescue breathing in the water or assisted lift to poolside
- Adult drowning CPR with the use of a pocket mask and AED
- Child or Infant CPR with the use of an AED
- Demonstrate the treatment for a severe bleed and Shock
- Demonstrate the treatment for an injury to a bone, muscle or joint
- Answer 12 multiple choice questions based on pool Lifeguarding (section 1) and CPR/First aid (Section 3)
If successful after the shortlisting process, you will receive a formal invitation with further tools and guidance to assist you in preparing for the assessment, should you need it.
