Midlands Innovation is a strategic collaboration between eight research-intensive universities in the Midlands, which has operated for a decade. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with senior leaders from across these universities. You will play a vital role in shaping the collaboration as it enters its second decade and in advocating for the excellent research and innovation across the partnership.
As Assistant Director, you will be part of a small team that delivers on behalf of the partnership. You will work closely with university leaders, researchers, and professional staff to develop and deliver collaborative initiatives, share best practices, and champion research and researchers in the Midlands.
You should have experience working in collaborative partnerships, balancing multiple stakeholders\’ needs, and developing effective relationships across university levels. A degree or equivalent experience is required, with experience in higher education or research support preferred. Experience working in the Midlands is desirable. You must demonstrate success in delivering complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.

This role is full-time, initially on a fixed-term contract until July 2026. The collaboration is committed to a 5-year partnership, likely extended beyond this date, subject to agreement. Internal secondment requests may be considered with prior approval.
