Who You Would Be Working For
Our client is proud to be the UK's finest grower and packer of leeks. With leeks being their main crop, they are grown over 1,000 acres producing around 10,000 tonnes a year! The leeks are processed in their onsite packhouse and are enjoyed on supermarket shelves nationwide.
The Role
I am seeking a proactive Field Quality Supervisor to oversee daily harvest operations in the field. You will lead a team of rig harvest operators, manage production targets, and ensure the safe and efficient movement of finished products. This is a hands-on position requiring experience with tractors and harvest rigs. In addition to meeting key production KPIs, you will play a vital role in upholding food safety, product quality, and making sure everything is in line with the customer requirements and company policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise agency labour on the rig, ensuring effective communication, motivation, training, and achievement of performance goals.
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications, company policies, and relevant legislation.
- Monitor and maintain product quality, addressing any non-conformances with the team.
- Oversee all administrative tasks related to the rig harvest operation.
- Manage the safe start-up, shutdown, and maintenance reporting of machinery.
- Ensure the safe and efficient transport of produce from the field to onward haulage.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Hands-on experience operating rig harvest machinery.
- Experience driving tractors.
- A valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
- Previous experience supervising teams.
- A full UK driving licence.
