We are seeking to recruit a CNC Machinist (Pipe Former & HIU Assembler) for a fixed-term contract of up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. The position is based at our Head Office in Blackburn.
Key Responsibilities
- Work safely in accordance with the company’s health & safety policies.
- Operate CNC machinery proficiently, including pipe feeding & cutting (saw) machines, pipe bending machine, end forming machine, bench drill, disc grinder, and compressed air test unit.
- Form pipe fittings from various metals to high standards and precise tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Assemble and sub-assemble Heating & Cooling Interface Units (similar to domestic boilers), including mechanical pipework and electrical components (low voltage 5V DC to mains voltage 230V AC).
- Participate in final testing, verification, and validation of products, including mechanical (air and water tests) and electrical testing (controllers, valves, actuators, sensors).
- Maintain quality standards in compliance with ISO 9001:2000.
- Care for tools, equipment, and test devices, reporting any defects immediately.
Requirements
- Experience with CNC machinery.
- Basic mechanical and electrical assembly skills.
- NVQ Level 2-3 or HNC/HND in CNC Milling preferred (desirable).
