Our client, with a residence in Kensington, is seeking a Live-in Houseman to join their small team of household staff.
Duties include:
- Household maintenance
- Housekeeping (with extra focus on heavier duties, e.g., using ladders for changing lightbulbs/attending to curtains, etc.)
- Driving – chauffeuring and for errands/shopping
- Building a rapport with contractors and arranging visits where necessary and approved
- Occasional assistance with service when the family hosts dinner parties
- Having a good grasp of the household systems – e.g., heating, electric, Sky, etc.
- Being security-aware regarding all visitors to the house
- Sharing joint responsibility for helping to ensure that the property is secure at all times, particularly at night and setting the alarm if the family is not in residence
- Being a key holder and doing regular security checks on the house and garden in the principal’s absence
- Travel (pre-planned) to the family’s other properties in the UK – mainly Norfolk but sometimes Scotland may also be necessary
- Ad-hoc duties when required
Working days: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week – occasional flexibility required
Accommodation: self-contained basement apartment (no partners/pets)
Salary: £45,000-£50,000 gross per annum
