Please note that this role is only open to existing students of Leeds Beckett University. Leeds Beckett University is an exciting, modern university located in one of the UK's most vibrant student cities. The university's large, centralised IT department supports a wide range of technologies and services across two campuses with excellent facilities.
Integral to our success is the Service Desk, which is the first point of contact for staff IT support and serves as the 'front door' to Digital Services. It provides first-line support for the university's IT and Audio-Visual systems. Successful candidates will spend up to eight months in the Service Desk team. The student placement role is highly varied. Candidates will also spend at least four months working in our second-line technical support team, Support Services.
You can expect to work with a wide range of devices including Windows and Apple computers, mobile devices, printers, and audio-visual equipment. Past placements have involved high-profile projects and events, offering valuable training and networking opportunities both within and outside the university.
The post holders will be responsible for first and second-line support of various IT and AV technologies, providing face-to-face, telephone, and remote support with an emphasis on customer service and prompt resolution. We seek motivated individuals with a passion for technology and strong communication, customer service, and organisational skills. The ability to prioritise tasks and attention to detail are essential for this role.
